So my friend's son was born with HIE and cerebral palsey. The little guy is 9m old and suffers from seizures so she is trying to raise money to afford a seizure dog for him. Myself and friends of hers are organizing a charity event in Apr.

My question is does anyone know of any local businesses or such that usually would donate gift baskets or such for an event like this. And since I've never done this before I don't know what the correct way to go about asking businesses for donations for raffles. Do I just call, explain what we are raising money for, etc.

Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.
