Charlize Theron, Sean Penn split after more than a year together:

Charlize Theron and Sean Penn's A-list romance has come to an end.

The Oscar-winning actors have reportedly called time on their relationship just shy of a year and a half together, according to Us Weekly sources.

Theron, 39, was allegedly the one to break up with the 54-year -old star, the mag noted.

The two, who were rumored to be engaged, last stepped out publicly side-by-side in mid-May around the annual Cannes Film Festival.

Theron and Penn first coupled up following a romantic Hawaiian getaway over the holidays in 2014.
The twice divorced Penn dished to Esquire magazine this past January that he was "surprised to be in love" at this point in his life.

"I'm self-proclaimed bad at mathematics but I can do two plus two: 53 years old plus finally beginning to figure out why you haven't been happy in a single relationship? It could seem too late," he said.

"But to run into somebody now who you care about is a much more passionate, deeper, truer and — God! — a much happier feeling," he gushed to the monthly about Theron.

A rep for Penn declined to comment on the split news while a spokesperson for Theron has yet to respond to Daily News' request.
