Cheap (but decent) hotels in Montauk- Labor day weekend
My husband and I want to spend 1 night in Montauk for our 5 year anniversary/ babymoon. (unfortunately we can't afford more than 1 night) I realize this is almost impossible for Labor day weekend!! Most places have a 2-night minimum. Anyone know of any places that aren't divey motels but still reasonably priced??

In my experience- most hotels (with a few exceptions) in Montauk are divey- and ALL are very pricey in summer- divey or decent!

How much are you looking to spend?

I agree with the above too.
Honestly for a holiday weekend in Montauk, I don't think you'll even be able to get an overnight or two days. They usually sell out the whole week and require you to stay at least the full weekend.
If you can hold off a weekend and go after Labor Day, you'll see a big drop in price and there will be a lot more available without the requirements of the "high season".

i doubt you will find any hotels just for one night. I remember for DH bachelor party he wanted to do an overnight trip to montauk to fish and almost every hotel required on the weekend at least 2 night stay and i think this was in september or october (it was almost 4 years ago)

No such thing! We stay at the Royal Atlantic - total dive, motel basically - over Columbus Day weekend and it is about $600 for 3 nights.
ETA: occasionally Jetsetter has deals on the Montauk yacht club for $99/night, but I doubt over LD weekend. Worth looking into though! And yes, 3 night minimums over holiday weekends.

Cheap (but decent) hotels in Montauk- Labor day weekend
I literally just emailed half of the hotels in Montauk and actually found one that will accommodate 1 night! But they haven't written back with pricing info. Sun N Sound- its a little divey but its not terrible! Hopefully its somewhat affordable!! Other places said they will allow 1-night last minute if there is availability and to check a week before.

Atlantic Terrace recently remodeled their ocean front rooms. They look nice (at least online). Don't think anything is cheap Labor Day weekend though!

Most of them are FOUR NIGHT minimum for LDW! Ridiculous! Don't most people have to work? I could understand 3 night.

I think most people staying out in Montauk during LBW take the long weekend to make a mini vacation, that's why.

My family has been going to this hotel for over 15 years- we're actually going over LDW as well. The rooms aren't the greatest as far as decor goes, but that sunset over the sound is definitely worth it!!

We stayed at Harmanns Briney Breezes and thought it was nice. I am not sure what the min is, but maybe give them a call if you haven't already.

We've stayed here a few times LDW for our anniversary as well. They definitely won't let you stay for one night unfortunately.

I was just going to say. Most hotels there will only allow one night stays during off peak times.
