I know you live near me..........go to the liquor store next to Stop & Shop. They have an assortment of local vineyard wines in the $10.00-$15.00 range.
They're on the left right when you walk in the door.

Georges DeBouef Beaujolais Nouveau! It's like $8 a bottle, less at Stew Leonards, and is delicious and very Christmas-y!

Chateau Diana in the super markets it's five bucks and it's the worst wine ever...don't go near it LOL

That's a great wine, but it doesn't last much longer. I don't think I'd give that as a gift.

Go to the Westbury Liquor Store (in/next to Costco) You don't need to be a member they have GREAT prices on Wine and Liquor
I was there tonight and they had a 2-pack of CAVIT wine (I personally think is a good name) -- one pinot grigio and one pinot noir for 10.99..usually one bottle is that much!!!!
it is in a cute Christmas-y looking box with a handle! Perfect for a gift! I should have picked up more than one!

I think that you probably already bought, but I think most people know Yellow Tail's price, so I would avoid that.
I usually go into my local store and tell him my price and he helps me find something. he has turned me onto great Washington State wines and others fro places you just don't expect.
but 2010 was a great grape growing season for the Northeast, so any NE 2010 wine should be good.

Someone on here once recommended Francis Copoola Diamond Collection Blue Label Merlot (yes, the director) and its one of my favorite wines!!! Its like $13/bottle I think.

Estancia Cab or merlot is under $15 and excellent. Hess is around $15 as well if not less.
I got a very cheap bottle of wine for a gift and opened it and poured it down the drain. Don't really cheap out or what's the point of spending the money to begin with?
Also if you are buying 7 bottles see if you can negotiate a discount for a case and get something better and drink it yourself.
