cheapest place to buy organic milk?
i'm not an "organic mom" but i'm considering switching DS's milk to organic for several reasons.
i was in king kullen tonight and at the prices! a half gallon of organic milk was $1.50 more than a FULL gallon of regular! considering he goes through 2 gallons a week, that's crazy!
where is the cheapest place you have found organic milk? what is considered a good price for it?

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
Trader Joe's - I think its $6.49/gallon. Target also had good prices on the Archer Farms organic brand.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
Not sure if you are a memeber of BJs, but it is 2.99 a gallon there. Sometimes shoprite has their brand for 4.99 a gallon on sale and regular price is 5.99. I think trader Joe's is somewhere around 5.99 also. I have seen it at Target and Waldbaums has it on sale sometimes too.
I used to buy it at Fairway sometimes, but something about the expiration date makes me wonder. The major companies like Horizon, Organic Valley, etc have expiration dates so far away and the Fairway ones are a week away.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
We usually just suck it up and by it for $5 a 1/2 gallon at Waldbaums, but I do try to go to BJ's as often as we can...can't beat their prices.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
I've been paying $3.69 for 1/2 gallon at Trader Joes b/c it was the least expensive around my house. Yesterday I saw that the BJs by my house added 1/2 gallons of organic milk, when previously they only had it by the gallon. It was $2.99 . . . by far the least expensive. Even on sale nobody has it at that price.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
We used to buy ours at Costco. Here in CO though we have milk delivery so now we get it delivered from a local dairy every Friday.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
I would say either BJ's/Costco or Whole Foods/Trader Joe's. The regular supermarket prices are insane.

BJ's...
I usually stock up when there is a sale at the grocery store also since organic milk has a long shelf life.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
It was just 2.99 at BJs for a half gallon. I heard that milk prices were going up again though. Earlier in the year I think the price was 3.69 or so there.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
Fairway has organic milk for 3.19 per half gallon. I usually buy milk either at Bjs, Trader Joe's or Fairway.

It's 2.99 for a half gallon, not a gallon but this is the best price I've found.

Re: cheapest place to buy organic milk?
Like the girls said, BJs has the half galllon for $2.99 and Costco sells a case of three 1/2 half gallons for $9, so same price as BJs.
