Oh thanks for asking Shana.. ummmm we believe he ISNT allergic since he has been eating cereal just fine. Rice and oatmeal. But it is still organic and he is still getting organic fruits and veggies. BUT... the ironic thing is that my MIL has been battling stomach/intestinal issues for a year now with Dr's telling her she has colitis, then diverticulitis, then chron's, and then irritable bowel syndrome. But the weird thing is that no matter what she ate it was causing her to cramp and bloat and go to the bathroom all day long. So when i took her to a nutritionist the woman believes that she herself has Celiac disease and that celiac is often misdiagnosed as all the diseases she was told she had. SO, she has been doing a gluten free diet for the past 2 weeks and miraculously her STOMACH PROBLEMS DISAPPEARED!!!

So, the nutritionist said she still has to be tested for sure to confirm she has it and she suggested that i take Jacob to be tested for it as well, since it is very much inherited. But i told her he is eating the oatmeal fine, and she said there is no gluten in oatmeal,( i read that there is gluten in oatmeal)and the true test would be barley. And i have yet to give him barley. I am scared to try it now. The ped thinks that it was a soy allergy all along, but again, i guess the only real way to find out is to give him the barley.

The one good thing though is that since my new insurance co wont cover the nutramigen, i called the ped and discussed why Jacob cant try to go back to regular similac, and so he guided me through a trial period and he is FINE now on the similac which is great since it is a buttload cheaper and i get the coupons.

So basically that is the update.. sorry so long.. aren't you sorry you asked????? hahaahah...

Oh and he still doesnt sleep thru the night. You can ask me about that in another post!!!

I am glad that you've at least gotten to a point where you know what you can feed him and he does well on it. Not knowing must be horrible!

And I do pray that he doesn't have Celiac's disease and that it was just as simple as the pediatrician thinks it was.
