Chelation?

Anyone have any feedback? Positive or negative?

Taking a break from the DAN approach right now and after some heavy duty allergy testing (which we didn't do) this would probably be the next step.

Based on everything I've read, it's very expensive, and doesn't work for autism. If that is what you are using it for.

Thanks!

Just curious about this treatment. I know some people swear by it and some are against it.

Re: Chelation?

I was typing with my phone and lost what i was writing....uggghhh !
anyway, I say follow a professional advise (always) bc we have good and bad metals. Chelations are successful but it doens't mean e.i autism will go away. However, you want the bad metals out as it will help him/her function better as they are poisonous for our health and functioning. You can do something simple as juicing everyday, bath of organic apple cider vinegar and empson salt and/or empson salts with aluminum and gluten free baking soda. HTH

Thanks for the info. We do epsom salt baths already but never thought of apple cider vinegar. Will try that.

Re: Chelation?

PLEASE be careful. Chelation is really no joke, and kids have DIED from it. Have you done heavy metals testing on your child? I think they can do a 24 hour urine test. I would be so so cautious about this. It's an ordeal for the child, and it can have deadly side effects. There's a risk of calcium and other deficiencies. Not good for a growing child. There's also no proof that it does anything for autism, if that's what you're planning to use it for. Unless you have blood and urine tests showing heavy metal poisoning I'd definitely think twice and three times about it.

Thanks for your concern. We are not doing it. My husband would never let me and the more I read about it I'm against it as well. I was just wondering if anyone has done it.

Re: Chelation?

I went to a DAN who wanted to do Iv chelation. Did research and found oral to be much safer but cannot find a doctor to back it. I was going to chelate myself and son but decided to hold off until I do more research. My Dan suggested in needed 3 hr allergy testing. Took my son to a normal allergist to find no allergy issues. Have stopped seeing the Dan as he was too radical and has no studies or patients that seemed to benefit. And at the cost of 15k to do it we could. It afford this. Hth's
