Chewing on the crib rail

Now that she is standing, she is chewing on the crib rail. It's pretty bad and can't be good for her.

Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do to prevent it?

Ohh Boy I thought I was the only one whose DC did this. My DD chewed her entire side rail and has moved on to the front rail . I actually called the company who makes the crib to make sure the paint wasn't toxic! I have stopped freaking when I walk in her room and her face/mouth is full of paint. I was hoping to use her crib again but it looks soo bad. The rails are thick & I haven't seen any rail covers wide enough.

My nickaname is Beave (short for Beaver) because I used to mall my crib. DS has a few bite marks in his, which really stinks because he's got a $$ convertable crib that he's going to be using until college!

Steven chews on his, but it really doesn't leave scratches or anything. So, I just leave him Chat Icon

Re: Chewing on the crib rail

BRU sells a "protection" to put on the railing if they chew it.

Leah does that too!! I just haven't bought the guards yet. There are huge divots in the wood - I can't imagine how much wood and varnish she has injested! Chat Icon
