Re: Childcare?
my mother does daycare within her home. Its in Bethpage and well, we are close to the RR station, like 10 blocks. She takes care of children from age 2 months to 4/5 and has about 5 sometimes more but also has a helper/asst there with her. She has been doing this for the past 20yrs.
Maybe this may be of interest to you or maybe I can help with some questions you may have.
HTH
ETA: you daughter is adorable.

My DH is staying home with Bella for the next few months until she is at least 6 months old. (she is 12 weeks old today) Then we need to put her in daycare. I live in Long Beach, but would travel to a good place if I had to. I have no available family to help out whatsoever.
I work in the city, but I don't train in until after 9 am and my DH would get home from work around 2 or 3, so it wouldn't be a terribly long day for her...at least that is what I am telling myself.
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions on where to even look and how expensive they are?
I lived in Long Beach for a long time.. I miss it now. Anyway, there is a daycare on Magnolia I believe thats where it is on the bay side. My friend used them and was very happy. You can FM me if you have any questions - Shari

Re: Childcare?
Do you have a Tutor Time near you? I send my daughter to Tutor Time in Suffolk County and we are VERY pleased with the care she receives there. They are monitored by videos and they are state regulated. They are a little expensive but so worth it. We pay approximately $800 a month for 3 days a week (with early drop off).

Re: Childcare?
I did hear of Tutor Time and I saw the one in east rockaway...do you have any idea what 5 days a week would be?
I just don't know what would be better for me psychologically, a big place or a home one... does anyone have opinions either way?
The thought of leaving my 6 month old in a place where she can't communicate to me if something goes wrong...that scares me. Once she is old enough to verbalize things, I guess it will be better. This is what is making my decision so tough. Well, that and the $$$
