Children who share a room
We are looking into buying an expanded cape that has two big bedrooms upstairs, and two nice sized bedrooms downstairs. Being that my son will only be 1 1/2 when this baby comes, we all want to be on the same floor (eventually we would look to expand the upstairs so that everyone can be on the same floor).
The baby will be in our room for the first couple of months. What are your experiences with having kids share a room...also, can you tell me how old they were when they first shared, and how old they were (or are going to be) when they go into their own room. Thanks!

That's the exact set up we currently have. We are all upstairs with the kids obviously sharing a room (3 and 8 months). The room is very large and we've literally split it in half and decorated for each child accordingly.
Eventually when we don't want them to share a room, we (DH and I) are going to move downstairs. Or we will expand the upstairs.

do your children wake each other up?
I figure really, the only time they will spend in there room is to sleep, because we will make one of the rooms downstairs into their playroom.

Both my boys share the same room and they do not wake each other up. They are both in such deep sleep that if one starts crying it does wake up the other. I have a 2 year old and 9 1/2 months.

DD is a great sleeper and has always slept through the night, so she definitely doesn't disturb DS. But when DS is upset or sick he has woken her up with his crying.
