china cab & dining room ? with pics
dining room/china cabinet
hello ladies....
Ok here is my question there is a dining set i love but the china cab that goes with it is way too big. my dining room is small and will only fit a table and chairs. So I was going to put a china cabinet in my livingroom
the china cab that is with the set is not going to fit in my livingroom (well barely it iwll be soooo crowded
ok so i found a cabinet that will match my living room furniture and will be on a wall away from the dining room ( i have L shape)
ok well here is my space
livingroom furniture
here is the dining room
Now furniture CHina cab that will match living room
here is the table set i love
so do u think that the china cabinet not matching the dining room table is weird?

I think it would look great. It doesn't match exactly but the colors go. I say go for it.
love the paint colors in the DR by the way!!!

My China cabinet is nearly identical. Is it from Canadel? I think it will be fine.

I think you'll be fine. I have the same china cabinet that goes in your LR, but mine is completely natural oak wood.

Everything is very nice, but I don't think that china cabinet goes with the leather sofas or with the table you love since they are more modern looking.

I agree with this. It looks like your taste is modern/contemporary. The china cabinet you want to put in your living room is totally traditional looking. I would stick with the dining room set you like but find a different china cabinet.

This is my first post on this site. Since you told me to try this out I figured my first post should be to you!
I think the china cabinet would look fine in the living room. It doesn't have to match your table if it won't be in the same room.

We are doing the exact same thing! Our dining room and living room are the same way and our china cabinet will match both b/c our table is black with wood, the cabinet is wood, or tables in the living room will be black -- when we move in I will post pics. I love your colors too-- so creative!

Re: china cab & dining room ? with pics
i don't think it is odd to have mismatched pieces but IMO the cabinet does not blend well w/ your current LR furniture. way too much black, not similar in style and the placement (next to the tv) would be odd.
my DR is only big enough for a table and chairs as well and eventhough the formal LR adjoins the room, i think a china cabinet would be out of place. is there really a need for a china cabinet? do you have a lot of pieces that you need to store or is it that you just like the "idea" of having one. i would opt for a nice buffet in the LR, place the tv on top and store dishes and linens inside the cabinets.

totally understandable. however i would advise that you find something that matches the wood tone of the LR tables and the lighter color in the DR table and NOT the black of the couches.
these are really nice, casual enough for the LR and available in different finishes;
DH sideboard
DH curio
PB cabinet
only available in the metro oak finish but is a good match w/ your tables TV bookcase

Nice stuff!
I like this now it is by Stanley
one of these curios
table
chairs
i love the matching cabinet but it may be too big for where I want to put it and the DH is being difficult on moving his tv
this is the darker version
but i dont hink we like the cabinet that matches it. the sides of the cabinet are solid not see through and we want glass sides.
So i think we wil be going with the lightbut we change our minds all the time. I have time to search for one it isnt like we dont have a table right now in the room

Re: china cab & dining room ? with pics
I don't like anything too matchy, so I think that can work ..........I just don't know how the China cabinet will look in your living room ....... Are you displaying the china and crystal ? If so, I don't think that will work with your casual furniture regardless of what the cabinet looks like ......... - Do you need a large China Cabinet ?? I think a corner piece could work in your Dining Room .......... ??
