It's horrible but reading the story it seems as if this father had nothing and had read a story about a child who got free daycare after his parents did something similar. If you believe him, (not sure if I do) then the Dad wasn't trying to sell the kid as a sex slave or to make a buck-he was trying to find him a home. It seems like it was a gimmick to get attention to his situation.
As terrible as it is I think what is worse is the people who offered him money for the kid (omg-I can't even think what they wanted from this poor child), the police who did nothing and the plight of the people who feel this is all they can do.
The poor kid-thank goodness those bystanders did something. I just don't know what the world is coming to sometimes.
