Chinese Take-Out in Massapequa

I should preface this by saying that DH is Chinese, so there are a lot of Chinese take-out places we DON'T like. We had tried Jenny's on Hicksville road a few times, and it was OK, but we find it SUPER oily. There is a shop on Jerusalem that's changed names about 20 times since we've lived here, and there was ONE owner where the food was OUTSTANDING. It was sold, again, and the food was crap, and now it's closed. There are tons of Japanese, and we typically go to Kiku for that... but I'm dying for some good take-out Chinese! Any recommendations?

My favorite was great asian in wantagh/seaford on merrick rd. It's a little far but it was the only chinese food take out I liked.

I was going to suggest Jen's but you said you already tried it. I'm surprised you don't like it b/c everyone i know in the area loves it. In fact, we moved away and DH still goes there when he's in the area and brings home food for us.

We like Liu's Green Garden. I've also heard good things about Potsticker & Co. & Casa Asia.

Thank you! We'll try them... We ordered from one place recently (I won't name where, but it has not been mentioned yet) and we literally threw it out and ran to get Checkers it was that unappetizing.

Re: Chinese Take-Out in Massapequa

There's a place on Merrick Rd. on the Wantagh/Seaford border in the plaza where the dollar store is that is good.

My SIL lives in Massapequa Park and orders from some place that's okay but I think they must use a lot of MSG because it gives you an instant headache. (Can find out the name for you--not that you'd want it LOL).

We also frequently order from Tang's in Copiague and DH loves their General Tso's.

(I usually order Japanese though from them).

Not sure how far they deliver.

Don't know the name of the place, but we always order from the place on Merrick Rd in the same strip as Carmela's, we've been going there forever

Re: Chinese Take-Out in Massapequa

I always get take-out from White Cloud by Big Daddy's and Potstickers by the HS on Merrick Rd.

Potstickers has awesome sesame chicken and crab cheese rangoons. White Cloud has awesome chicken in garlic sauce.

Haven't been there in forever, but I used to really like WaWa Kitchen in Amityville (in the same shopping center as Brownstone's and Athena)

Yes,

The place in Bethpage is the Orient. 623 Hicksville Road. It is about 5/10 minutes north of the Fortune Wheel.

eta: i feel your frustration.. my in-laws had a chinese restaurant so my dh is very particular about where he eats chinese food.

We always go to that BJ's and see how filled the restaurant is with Asian people - which to DH (who is 100% chinese) is a good sign... especially on Sunday for Dim Sum... OK, have to try it!

We typically drive to Flushing, but I HATE driving all the way out there.. it's so annoying. And the places we've always gone to just aren't as good anymore, especially for dim sum - not to mention there are a lot more white people there now - coincidence that their food is now more greasy? I think not.

Do you go to Joe's Shanghai in Flushing? It's DH's favorite place. We live almost an hour away and he's always willing to go there lol.

Across the street from Jen's is another shopping center; where Harmon is.

Have you tried there? It's called Empire Schezuan. They have Chinese but you can order Sushi there too. When we lived in the area; that was the only place we went to. I also ate in there once and their bathroom was S-P-O-T-L-E-S-S.

I also didn't like Jen's either.
