christening
Would you change your christening date for your nieces and nephews grade school sporting events? Is this even near reasonable? I can't believe my baby has to be put behind grade school sports....meanwhile I have my in-laws flying in from Fl. I am giving people 4 months notice, but I am actually getting grief cause its a big sports weekend. Am I overreacting?

Re: christening
No, you are not overreacting at all... It sounds as if your child Christening has already been planned months in advanace and there is no need for you to have to change it

Re: christening
I don't think you are overreacting at all.
While I understand it's important to teach kids to stick to their commitments, it's only one weekend and only a couple hours at that.
A Christening is a one-time special event, they should be able to put other things aside.

If they can't make it, then its their problem, not yours.

Totally agree. A Christening is a big deal and a one time thing.

Re: christening
I wouldn't change the date. A Christening is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Sports can be played at any time. Your baby comes first and if they choose not to attend because of sports, that is their decision. Do what you planned on and have a great day.
