Re: Christening question
At our kids christenings, which were big events (150+), to be honest, Dh and I were running around greeting and thanking people for coming, along with grabbing DD or DS, that we never got to sit at our table (that it felt like I didn't even really have a table? LOL)
I'm sorry you guys are upset but I would probably be upset too. Friends, while there may be some that feel like family, you and your bro ARE family, so that should be compromised. You all should sit together. this is as much of a big day for the baby and parents and it is for you guys as well.

Re: Christening question
I don't know if there's a set rule. When my sister was godmother to her friend's baby she sat at the same table as I did which was not with the baby's parents. This was in a restaurant.

Re: Christening question
We had issue sover seating for DS's 1st b-day party. Initially we wanted to sit with our immediate family, but IL's pretty much told us who their tabelw ould be, and that didn't include us. Anyway, we made the rest of our tables and put ourselves where there was room.
