Re: Christenings at restaurant/hall

I had Julia's at a restaurant, and didn't have a DJ, we just bought a radio with us and some CD's.

Re: Christenings at restaurant/hall

I had both of my sons' Christenings at a hall and I hired a DJ both times. Otherwise I found the kids would just run around, get bored or get into trouble...and their parents wouldn't have any fun.
DJ's do great activities with kids. Gives the parents time to relax and socialize.Chat Icon

Plan on having it in a hall and thinking of getting a magician or something like that for the kids.

A magician or a character is a great idea (for the older kids). The only thing is, they sometimes just stay for an hour. A DJ is for your full 4 hours of party.

They usually have organized activities (hot potato, limbo, conga line, led dances). They have giveaways (glow sticks, hats, horns).

They sometimes have freeze dance contests, karaoke, simon says. The kids at the parties have a ball.

If only the adults would stop eating for 2 seconds and get up and dance!!Chat Icon

I had both of my son's Baptisms at the hall where DH and I were married. I had a DJ w/ giveaways for the 1st and a charicaturist for the 2nd.

We had ours at a hall and hired a one man band guy who sang and played the guitar. We also had the ipod with our bose system playing when he took breaks.

We did ours at a hall, and docked our iPod with some speakers. It turned out perfect!

Re: Christenings at restaurant/hall

I'm having mine at a pub/restaurant. If we were having it at a hall (like K of C) I think I would get a DJ. My brother did this and it was really nice.
