Christmas Dinner thread

What's on your menu for Christmas dinner? I just found out I'm hosting and need to make a plan. Small group of us- only 9 people (including 2 vegetarians). Would like to switch things up a bit this year. Ideas?

We do the traditional Italian seafood dinner on Christmas Eve...and by "we" I mean my mom makes:

Mozzarella & tomato salad
Lobster tail with melted butter
Shrimp cocktail
Fried shrimp
Fried fish filet
Baked clams
Stuffed mushrooms
Mashed potatoes
String beans
Corn

It's served buffet style...now I'm hungry & can't wait!!

On Christmas I love eating Italian Style!!

Penna Alla Vodka, Caprese Salad, Bread.
Those are some of my favorites.

Everyone usually serves shrimp cocktail and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. Or a nice cheese and fruit board.

Christmas Dinner thread

Great question!

I do Xmas Eve and am planning;

Stuffed mushrooms
Caprese salad
Broccoli rabe
Shrimp scampi
Penne a la vodka
Maybe veal cutlets?

I'm looking for ideas

Last year I did penne w shrimp and peas in a pink sauce and it was a hit. Want to stay away from lasagna and such.

Yes, I'm trying to not do baked ziti/lasagna/shells this year. Ala vodka is always a good possibility. I'm sure I'll do a spiral ham and some sides too. Hmmm, so many choices!

Re: Christmas Dinner thread

I usually make a Prime Rib on Christmas Day. However, I came across a Beef Wellington recipe that DH and I would like to conquer.

In addition, a very, very small ham.

Most likely accompanied by:
Mashed Potato or Roasted Potatoes
Roasted Carrots
Steamed or Roasted Asparagus....

Ham
String beans
Scalloped potatoes

Apps are light: cheese and crackers, hummus and veggies, chips and dip

Does this sound like enough?
