Christmas-I am ready for you (for once!)

Finally, after 30+ years, I am ready for Christmas.

We finished cleaning the entire house from top to bottom (bathrooms, floors, dusting, windows, etc) setup beds for family coming in to town, set up my mom's town house for the arrival of her and a couple others.

Laundry done and put away!

We are fully decorated for Christmas (well, we could never find our outside lights, but the inside looks great and we have a wreath and some big bells hanging outside).

Food and beverage shopping is done! Menu for the entire week is planned-no guessing as to what to feed people!

Baking is done! DH is delivering the cookies to our neighbors mail boxes today and we are stocked with our own stash for company.

Every last single present is purchased AND wrapped.

Like most people, I feel like we have been running on empty since Thanksgiving, and while it is fun to gear up for the holidays, it is nice to be ready for once. I can actually relax tonight before my in laws get here


Of course, Murphy's law-now that I am ready, none of our family will probably be able to make it out of NY to get here-in which case any of you NC transplants are invited over for a party in my clean house loaded with food and booze. You can even crash in our clean beds if you drink too much
