Christmas question
DS has SO many toys and thanks to my wonderful sis he has plenty of clothes. Would it be really rude of me when people ask what to get DS for christmas I ask them to get a savings bond instead?
Last year he got so mnay toys and you know what he did? He found a favorite and played with that one toy the whole day and the rest sat in a big pile. It was such a waste b/c he was just as happy getting 3 or 4 toys then the whole huge mountain of stuff. He is almost 4 but has enough toys to fill up at least 3 large toy boxes

I don't see anythig wrong in asking for a savings bond.

Re: Christmas question
I wouldn't have a problem telling anyone in my family what to get Julia because I dont want gifts that shes not going to use or have to much of, so no I dont think thats being rude at all.

Re: Christmas question
I don't think it's rude but I know that if it was me, it would kind of take all the fun out of giving Christmas gifts to a child if I was asked to give a savings bond.
How about if you asked people to contribute toward swimming lessons or gymboree type classes (or something like that)?
What about books - does he have alot of those too?
Or how about three large toy boxes for all those toys?
