Chronic Ear Infections and Dairy being a contributing factor to it?
Anyone know anything about this?
DS has his 4th ear infection in 4 months. This time he barely cried or complained....but he had a fever Friday and decreased appetite for several days leading us to suspect another ear infection as of Sunday morning.
Now I feel like he may be tolerating the pain so well that he doesn't get so crazy like the other times (he would writhe in pain and scream uncontrollably multiple times a day & throughout the night the 1st 2 times.....the 3rd was a little less screaming, but we knew...)
ANYHOW....it was suggested by my chiropractor (who's pretty into holistic type stuff ect.) that dairy may be a cuplrit in this. As in DS may have an allergy & allergies can contribute to ear infections.
Do I get him allergy tested? Do I limit dairy to see if that is part of problem? Do I see an ENT first to see if it is something with his ears?
SO CONFUSED!

I suppose it could be possible but Abby has had chronic ear infections, just had ear tubes put in and she is a dairy free child. Her pediatrician sent her to an ENT. She developed thrush from the antibiotics that were not working for her and that was one of the reasons why we had the tubes put in. We also learned that it was common for NICU babies to have chronic ear infections and need tubes - something about the swallowing. Abby had a classmate in day care who had been a NICU baby at the same time she was and also gets chronic ear infections.

Goldi....can I ask HOW she is dairy free? No yogurt? No cheese? She about 10 months right? So she is still on formula? Soy formula?
LJ was in the NICU for 3 days, but only for a suspected infection as he was born with a high fever. (My water broke 22 hours before I delivered him)....but was sent home with a clean bill of health.
