Re: CIO Moms
You can do it, you can do it!
Not a CIO mom, but a CIO failure mom. Do it before you never get her out of your bed.

Re: CIO Moms
Too late!
She is fast asleep in my bed right now, I carefully slid my arm out from under her head so I wouldn't wake her.

Re: CIO Moms
Sorry I wasn't around last night to give you some support.
While CIO isn't necessary for all babies, there are a good number (including mine) who simply did not respond to any gentler methods. She was not getting enough sleep, and we were both miserable. While CIO wasn't a magical cure that created a perfectly predictable sleeping baby, it has resulted in more rest for her, and sanity for me.
Here's hoping you find the answer for you!

Thanks! I really hate the thought of it, but she is impossible to get to sleep for the night, for naps. She doesn't stay asleep either, unless she is being held. I am back at work, and the day care people can't hold her all day. She is always cranky due to lack of sleep.

Re: CIO Moms
we went off and on with CIO for months because we didn't like it. We were just about to give up on it and then one day we put her down in her crib while she was awake and she fell asleep on her own without a peep. Now for the last 4 months she's been putting herself to bed with no problems at all. So hang in there-eventually they figure out how to do it.

Re: CIO Moms
Good Luck! I have been CIO for months. Alex still cries but for significantly less time than when we started. Now he will cry when I put him in and within 5 minutes he is asleep or quiet and then he falls asleep. If I don't let him CIO he is so cranky he is a boy who needs his sleep but fights it all the way.

Re: CIO Moms
Good luck ladies! We just re-employed CIO with Alex last night and it worked like a charm. We were getting lazy and Alex started getting used to waking up every 2 hours during the night again, to play with mommy or daddy, but we successfully nipped that in the bud last night!

Re: CIO Moms
CIO is so hard, so I give you all the credit.
I have been doing the sleeplady method (I didn't buy the book, but I just took the ideas from her website.)
it actually worked on night 7! but we are only 3 nights full sleep through the night, so I hope I didn't jinx myself!
