CIO Support Needed Please!
Bedtime has become a nightmare. DS starts screaming the second we go in his bedroom. Even if we rock him he fights it and wakes up as soon as we put him down. He is 15 months. We did CIO when he was 6months and it worked great. But the last month or so bedtime has been getting progressively worse. Now its just completely out of control.
We're 15 min in and he has already made himself sick. I can't think of any other way to get him to go to bed easier. I feel like we've tried everything we could and are down to CIO again. Its just so much harder now that he's a toddler. He's standing there screaming and he's so upset. I don't remember it being this bad when he was younger.
Please tell me your success stories of CIO with toddlers. I need some strength to get me through the next few nights.

Hang in there!!!! It takes a few days of miserable nights and then your DC will know you mean business, though I found with anything the older they are the harder/loger it is to break or make a new routine. Good luck!!!!

I've done this before and I know it works, but its just so hard! He's crying and calling for me and I want to pick him up and rock him but I know I'm just feeding into it then. Sometimes being a parent is just so hard.

aww
i know with my DS if i go in there he just cries harder. i would try letting him just cry himself to sleep without going in there at all.
do you have a video monitor so you can check on him that way?

Re: CIO Support Needed Please!
i went through something similar with DS around the same age.....and it was soooo hard. he would cry and wail for me and it was horrible!! for us, the only thing that worked was me not going back in at all. when i went in it made things worse. it was a few really bad nights then by night 4 or so he cried 5 min and fell asleep.
hang in there!!

Re: CIO Support Needed Please!
He's asleep. I'm not sure if we failed with night one or not. After an hour I went in and hugged him over the crib railing while he was still in the crib until he calmed down. Then I layed him down and shusshed really loud while I rubbed his stomach. He was out in seconds. I feel like I'm going to cry. I don't even want to think about tomorrow night.

Definitely didin't fail, you didn't take him out of the crib, so he a least knew you meant business and it was bedtime. Hopefully you will have a better night tomorrow.
