City people with dogs or people without back yards
How often do you walk your dog?
How long are the walks?
And what on earth do you do with your dog when it's pouring out?

Re: City people with dogs or people without back yards
When I lived in an apt in Queens, I walked my dog twice a day and for as long as it took her to go potty.
If it was pouring, I tried to keep her covered by the umbrella! But even if she was getting soaked, if she *had* to go, she would.

Before we had a fenced yard, I tried for 4 times a day. Some days it was 3.

Re: City people with dogs or people without back yards
Bella usually gets two 30+ minute walks a day, and then usually 2 more quick potty trips. DH walks her in the morning before work, and depending on what time it is I will take her out for a quick pee in the morning before I leave. Then she gets another walk in the afternoon by me. then she will go out once or twice more before we go to bed to go potty. On rainy days like today, she only goes out for quick potty walks, so far she has only been out twice today. On weekends we take her to the dog park for exercise or extended walks.
