Civil service librarian exam
Has anyone taken this exam in Suffolk County? I'm taking it in October and just wondering what to expect? Is it all multiple choice or are there essays too? Do you remember in general any topics covered? I just feel totally unprepared and I hate that feeling!

My friend is a Librarian. I know that a Masters in Library Science is required. I'll ask her if she remembers specifics about the test but i know i remember her saying it was easy.

Is it the Librarian II exam? I dont really have any info on whats on it but I am anxious for the Librarian I exam to be announced. wondering when that will be. Good luck!

I took it a few years ago. It was all multiple choice and there were some reading comprehension questions (not at all related to the library profession ) and some situational questions about working in a library. I don't think you can really study for it.

Check your local library. Mine has books that contain sample exams. I believe they are called "Passbooks" and are green in color. They are usually located near job-related materials.

Thanks all! Yes, it is the Librarian II exam.
I will check my local library for the Passbook. That would be very helpful!
