Civilization (the PC game) - Anyone's DH play it?
Curious if anyone knows if their husbands or SOs play the game Civilization on the PC?
I am asking cause a new long-anticipated sequal is coming out in two weeks.
If anyone's DH plays this game, you must know how ADDICTING it is.  Its so addicting I have (at times) played this game for hours on end. I wouldn't eat... sleep... practically leave the room while playing this game.
So be prepared to lose your husbands once again once the latest version is released (called Civilization 4).
I will be a victim!

When you are addicted to a game like Half-Life... a single game usually only takes 5-10 minutes (if you are playing online).
The average game of Civilization takes 3-8 HOURS to finish. Some go even longer.
Civilization 4 is the latest game. It comes out in two weeks. Don't bother with the older versions. The first version came out in 1990!
Its not a shoot em up game.... its more of a strategy game. You build cities... expand your territory... build your armies up.
If its similar to anything.... its similar to a game like WarCraft. But Civilizaion is more strategy oriented.
If you buy it for your husband thats cool... but it will take him a while to learn how to play it properly if he never played it before.
But i'm telling you... if he plays it... and likes it. Its like instant addiction. Expect him to spend many a night on the PC.
Civ 4 comes out around Oct. 24th. I am counting the days!

This is probably the longest running PC game that is out currently.
The first version came out in the early 90s... I was playing it on my Commodore 64 when I was 14! 
I dont think there are any other games out there that have been out for longer.

I am a Civilization widow DH just installed it at his brother's suggestion (remind me to kill BIL) and the first day he spent 6 hours.
Last weekend I felt sick and went to bed early on Friday night and DH wasn't tired so he decided to play Civ and 7 hours later, I woke up for some reason and he wasn't in bed next to me, but still at the computer.
I am hoping once BIL hooks up his computer (he just moved) DH and BIL will play the game together via e-mail. Since it is turn based, this should help DH not play ALL of the time, but actually wait for his bro's reply.
There is a new version?

Is it anything like the battlefield games? My Dh sits at the pc all into it with headset and all. chats using that teamspeak? for hours sometimes

When I play CS online...I can play for hours...Not just 5/10 min....It's crazy!!!!
