Classes for a 16 month old

I am trying to figure out what if anything to do with DD in September. We do classes at the library when offered, have tried Music Together and a gym class at Orly's. I don't want anything too Chat Icon What is everyone doing or have you done for a child this age? What did you feel were the pros and cons of the class?

My DD loves Gymboree. They had a promotion over the summer for $130.00 for 5 classes & 5 playgyms. I can go whenever I want provided that the class is for her age group.

I would recommend those places like Gymboree, My Gym, Little Gym, Doodle Bugs, etc.

I've read about messy art classes that sound like a lot of fun too.

I also liked the description of the Happy Bookworm.

DS is only 4.5 months old so this is all based on research and not actual experience.

Re: Classes for a 16 month old

DS is 17 months.

Up until 15 months we did Music Together and he loved it. I didnt do it this summer because I felt he needed to be more active. He hardly sat anymore at music class. He danced around and loved the music but I thought a gym class would be better for him. We did Gymboree this summer and he loved it. Its not very structured, a lot of free play, but good to get out of the house and let him run around especially on rainy days.

Now that he's almost 1 1/2 I think hes ready for a little more structure. We are doing a Mommy and Me in September that will go to December. Its an 1 1/2 hours once a week, and involves storytime, puzzles, circletime, socialization etc.... I think it will be perfect. The plan is to go back in January without mommy which will begin the seperation.
