Sorry if anybody posted it already, but I had to share this. Funny, yet scary that people do this. At least she was caught. Question is: Do you blame the mom or the driver?

I kind of blame the driver more because I would never even have put the car in drive without the child secure in a seat or belt. The mother is definitely very much at fault also.

I think I blame the child's mom more. See, if the driver of the car were an 18 year old, we could argue that she would not know any better and in that case, it would fully be the responsibility of the child's mother.

It is the owner of the car/driver's responsibilty to enforce the seatbelt/carseat law.

I personally think the mom should also be charged for child endangement.

I am not sure child "abuse" is the right conviction here.

As long as the alcohol/booze is not "open" they can't arrest her for that. Especially if it was "safe".

I definitely think the mother should also be brought up on charges. Just because she wasn't driving I don't feel she shouldn't be held responsible. Just because it was a free ride, doesn't mean she had to take it, without a carsear for her child and be allowed to put her child in danger.
As mothers, would any of you accept a ride without a carseat for you child?
I know I never did.
