Not sure if you booked the party already, but wanted to tell you I was just having this conversation with some friends who have school age kids(mine are still toddlers- not sure how old your DC is) but they were saying how much easier weekday after school kiddie parties are, especially how much they prefer Fri eve parties say 4-6, bc dinner is usually served, the parents dont have to worry about kids having to go home &do homework,if the mother works, usually she can be home by then(as opposed to a weekday afternoon) and the family has their weekend free to do family things-without having to break it up bc they have to go to a kiddie party!lol hth!

I use to prefer weekend parties but now that I have a few kids and more commitments, the weekends are harder. If it is a drop off party, I think the weekend is OK but if it's where a parent needs to accompany them, esp if they have older kids who are in extra curricular stuff, weekends are tough to commit to. I love the Friday into dinner time idea.
