Classy Move Mets Fans
I am a die-hard Yankees fan and I want to thank the Mets fans for giving Joe Torre a standing ovation last night. VERY classy move fans! Thanks.

He played for us from 1975 - 1977 and managed the Mets from '77 - '81 so he's always been a big fan favorite. He's always been a class act and deserves the respect of the fans.
Yeah...I know that but I don't think they were applauding him for what he did in the 70's. I would assume it was a welcome back to NY. I don't remember too many Mets fans cheering him as a former Met during the numerous subway series' for the past 11 years. LOL

I didn't mean to imply that you didn't know that. I realize it was a welcome back Joe thing. But is it outside the realm of possibility that he was once a Met played a part in the welcome he received?
exactly - he wasn't JUST a yankee - he played for the mets - that would pretty much be the only reason i'd cheer him. If he was only a Yankee manager, I'd probably boo the crap out of him
plus, i thought he was quite overrated
