Cleaning a microfiber couch?
My sister is getting a microfiber couch from a friend (its too big in their new house, they have to get rid of it), its about 5 years old and overall its in good shape, but it could use some spot cleaning. What do you recommend? Resolve perhaps? What cleaner or method do you use?
TIA!

Re: Cleaning a microfiber couch?
soap and water (gentle soap, even baby shampoo) but the smallest amount needed, and a sponge, and dry with a cloth to take away some of the water. (i would use no soap first and see if the spot comes out, if not then use soap)
Spot clean only though. if there are a lot of stains call in a professional to have the entire sofa cleaned.
Use the least amount of water that you need b/c it tends to leave a water mark or ring on that fabric

oh and don't use resolve, it could remove the color depending on the type of microfiber

For spot cleaning I use a spot cleaner! It looks like a huge dustbuster, I think it is made by dirt devil.

thanks!! my MIL has a shampooer that she uses on the carpet, but that might be too harsh on the couch? I could always test an area on the back though.

It should be ok, the carpet shampooers usually have an upholstery attachment.
This is the one we have. Its very loud, but it works great. Its actually also a carpet cleaner, but for spots.

I use my steam cleaner all the time on my couch. but i will say, once you open those fibers with a steam cleaner, the stain will come back, it just "hides it" this goes for rugs too!

Re: Cleaning a microfiber couch?
Raymour and Flannigan was just here yesterday cleaning my microfiber couches - They guy said to use regular detergent and water. He also said if you have a few extra bucks, go online and order microfiber cleaner - That works best.
