Cleaning bottles in dishwasher
My sister used the Avent bottles, and after putting them in the dishwasher a few times, the plastic really started looking shabby -- it got cloudy, and nothing she did could get them looking good again. Has anybody else experienced this? Is there any way to prevent or fix it? Does it happen with the Dr. Brown's bottles. I'd hate to spend all the money on the Dr. Brown's bottles and then have them looking like c**p after a few weeks because I cleaned them in the dishwasher.
Any ideas or advice?

It hasn't happened to my Dr. Brown's bottles yet and I've been washing them in the dishwasher for months.

I noticed this with my Avent bottles. I don't think there is anything you can do about it. I hardly ever wash them in the dishwasher. Maybe 3x in total.

I have used Avent and Dr. browns - it hasn't happened to either of them for me.
I started using the Electrosol tablets (orange blossom) I find that cleans the bottles better - Also once and while I clean the bottles in the dishwasher alone (With nothing else in it) that usually works best.

I use Avent as well and I haven't noticed this.  I may try those Electrosol tablets, though. Does it seem to get the bottles "cleaner"?

yes, I noticed when I used cascade that sometimes the nipples had a film on them-it happens much less with electrosol.
