Cleaning car seat cover-Britax

I want to wash my car seat cover for the Britax Marathon. It is that suede type fabric. On the car seat cover it says hand wash, but in the manual it says washable. Anyone have this and how did you clean it. Thanks!

I have the demin colored light blue, fabric one. It said to hand wash, which I did. It cleaned up really easily - then I air dried. I guess you could put it in the wash for gentle cycle but it was so easy to hand wash I wouldn't want to take the chance.
