cleaning carpeting?
Hi everyone, i don't post here often but was hoping someone could help. I know this may sound odd but i grew up with NO carpeting anywhere. I'm now in an apt. that has berber? carpeting on the stairs only in the hallway. I usually carpetfresh and vacuum it etc... unfortunately, my DH refuses to wipe his wet feet on the doormat and there are now muddy footprints on it. What can i use to wash the rug??? I'd rather not hire someone to come in and shampoo it?? Thanks for your help

Re: cleaning carpeting?
We have a full-size steam cleaner for most of the house, but for small areas, we have a portable steam cleaner, similar to this one:

It's about $40 at walmart.

No, that's not the same. Those steamers just take the wrinkles out. You could rent a machine also from the store but Bissell has some nice ones, upright without the tank, that you may want to invest in. Something tells me you'll be getting alot of use out of it

Re: cleaning carpeting?
If you buy a steam cleaner make sure you get one that has a stair/upholstery attachment that way you can do the stairs. I think some attachments are better than others. This one has good reviews and has a power attachment with spinning brushes. I'm thinking of buying it myself. If you don't want to buy one you can rent one. Lots of supermarkets have them and I think HD does too.
