my dad recommends hi clients use guardsman furniture polish 2-3 times a year.. .you spray on a light application and then buff it off.
For every day wear, he recommends that people use a very very damp cloth to wipe up spills, dust, etc....
that's for solid wood cabinets- not for veneer, etc.

I would also say this-follow mixing instructions and apply with a soft cloth. I love the way it smells too
