Cleaning Person - not so great of a job - need opinion

A friend of mine suggested her friend as a cleaning person for me. Her rates were very reasonable. I left all the products, she came over last Friday. She was to do the "deep cleaning" - the one you pay the $$ for. I came home from work - the house was clean, but "deep clean" - no. I had made a specific list (on paper) when we negotiated the price - and more than a few things were not done - the kitchen cabinets were not cleaned, none of the dining room furniture was dusted, the windows in the dining room were not washed (but the living room was Chat Icon ), no furniture in the bedroom was dusted.

She she is a friend of a friend, I am not sure how to handle it. Shoudl I just call her and politely say I was a little disappointed because some of what I considered basic things were not done (dusting?). I had wanted to hire her on a regular basis but I don't think she does a thorough job. Now I regret hiring the friend the friend.

What would you do?

Thanks in advance.

I would call her and tell her that her services were not up to snuff and then I would not extend her the offer of work again. Those are BASIC cleaning tasks that should have been completed.

Ditto! If she can't get the deep cleaning right than who is to say that she will get the basic done.

Did you tell her that you wanted her to clean regularly? If you didn't then you don't need to do anything. She doesn't expect to hear from you.

Now if you had arranged for her to clean on a regular basis then you can call and politely tell the person that you are no longer interested in continuing to have her clean your house. If no arrangement was made, not calling sends a pretty clear message. Nothing else you need to do.

I would tell her that you were disappointed in the job. She what she says.

How much time did she spend?

Sometimes people who clean have limits on the time they will spend in each house.

It's possible she had another job to go to and skimped. She needs to know that it's not acceptable.

ITA. A lot of times people get a cleaning person as a one time deal to get ready for guests, a party, etc.

Does your friend know you were looking for a steady? Maybe she won't even ask. Even if she does you could make a different reason up if you want to - like you decided you's rather save the $.

I did tell her that I wanted to hire her on a regular basis (every other week) when we first made all the arrangements.

I want to call her and tell her I was a disappointment because of the basic thing I expected (in writing) were note done.

If she had a time limit, she didn't tell me she had one.

And the thing is, it's not like I'm a total clean freak either.

for the sake of not making the situation awkward, i would not say any thing to her at this point- whats done is done, and just never hire her again.
