Cleaning wood dining room table
What's your best cleaner? I use the Pledge everyday, but feel like it lost the nice shine.
Also, I should add the it's our kitchen table we use everyday. My 4 and 2 yr old boys sit at, eat, color, etc. I use placemats, but I feel like bc it's our everyday table it doesn't look at great as when we first got it.
Need advise? I don't want to cover it bc it's so nice looking. The boys are good about it and always on the placemats. I hate when food gets caught in the grooves too.
Thanks

Re: Cleaning wood dining room table
I have just given up. My table s always clean. But it still looks like crap. My DS even carved his name in it. I figure when they're a but older ill just replace the whole thing. And don't get me started on the chairs.

Re: Cleaning wood dining room table
I found that mine looks dull and streaky if I use a wood cleaner. I started using a small amount of vinegar (maybe about 1 tbsp) in a spray bottle filled with water and it comes out much better then when I use a wood cleaner.

That's how I feel. It's always clean, but has a dull look and I try everything. I think I'll try the vinegar someone suggested.
BTW... I bought dish towels just to put on the boy's chairs. When I take it away to wash, change or just took off when we had company sit there he will actually ask for it. I let him pick out a blue towel so I guess it was exciting to him. I got a few to change for when they drop something on it or between washing

This!
I have been looking for a new set, but haven't found anything I love for the right price (I am not spending more than $1k on something I will most likely replace in under 5 years)...
I did buy wood stain and fun turquoise paint in Lowes and am going to try my hand at refinishing my set before I replace it... I figure it can't get any worse looking.
