Clear blue advanced ovulation test

I've taking these tests before and they've always worked exactly how the box said that they would but today I am only cycle day 9 and I just took the test and I got a solid smiley.... Yesterday was a blank face so I skipped right over the flashing smiley. How can that happen? I just had an HSG done on Monday could that test make you ovulate early?

This happened to me once. I ended up calling them to see if there was a defect in the test.

So they said that being the flashing smiley detects estrogen, which happens before your LH rise, it's possible you either just didnt catch you estrogen rise or it wasnt strong enough to be detected. They said that the solid smiley is for sure your surge.

I used the new ones this month and got a smiley 9 days before temping showed I Od, I knew it was wrong so I waited 3 days and started again, smiley face again 3 days to soon. I don't like the new ones.
