CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
Any thoughts? I cannot decide what I want to get another Masters in,... so I figure for now these might be a good option.
Can I take 4 KDSI courses at once?
Then 3 more in the spring?
Plus 2 clep tests?

Re: CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
I didn't do the clep tests but I pretty much conquered 20 out of 30 credits for my 30+ using kds. The most I took was 3 classes per semester. They are easy but tedious.

Re: CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
I just took a CLEP test for the final 3 credits of an additional certification.
I did American Literature, you just have to make sure that the CLEP test you register for, you've never taken a course for that material before or it won't count.
CLEP tests definately the way to go...72 dollars and 90 minutes for 6 credits, vs. 12 weeks, 600 dollars, and endless hours in class and homework.

Re: CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
You are right! I am going to try to see which matches up with my undergrad/grad work and then see how many I can take!

Re: CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
i just took two CLEPS for a total of 9 credits. It cost less than $200 and one day to complete both! Definitely worth it!

Re: CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
CLEP tests are so pain-free, cheap, and easy, it's practically a scam. You can go from MA to MA + 30 for under $1000 as long as you have some pretty basic knowledge. I took 3 CLEP tests when I worked in the City and found out about them. If I still worked there, I'd be at the top of the pay scale now for sure - take the English lit one, the algebra one, the American History one... all you need is a working knowledge of the concepts for a passing score. They're all multiple choice. Go for it!
BTW: if you know any foreign languages, those tests are worth 12 CREDITS instead of three (depending on your score).

Re: CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
I took CLEP and KDSI courses. CLEP tests are so worth it. I got 9 credits in one MORNING!! KDSI classes were a lot more work and sitting in front of the computer. I think I did 3 of them for a total of 9 credits. The remaining credits went towards a second Master's degree in guidance.

Re: CLEP Tests and KDSI Courses
Just an FYI,KDSI courses do not transfer to other areas, they are only good for NYC differentials, so if you get a job in the suburbs, they won't count towards your salary. Not sure about CLEP.
