Clogged ear????

I woke up this morning with my ear clogged. It's so uncomfortable.

Any ideas why this could be and what I should do. I also have a pounding headache.

you could try blowing your nose really hard...chew gum; which would move around whatever is in the ear cannel...move your jaw back and forth...which does the same as the gum, but sometimes gives me a bit more relief.

does it feel like pressure or a wax buildup?

if it's pressure, then try what nicole suggested. yawning helps too.

if it feels like wax, then u may have to go to the dr or there may be some over the counter meds-- you can ask a pharmacist at cvs, etc to recommend something.

If it's wax buildup, you can use Deborex (OTC medication).

To alleviate the pain, motrin & a warm wash cloth on your ear. Also rub on the lump directly below your ear lobe.

Sometimes a decongestant also helps.

I just went through this. try this product called "Wax Away" and then flush your ear out with luke warm water.

you can also use hydrogen peroxide. lay on your side (affected ear facing ceiling), pour a capful of HP in the ear, wait for a minute (it will bubble and start to itch). then place a paper towel or a wad of tissues on the ear, swirch positions or sit up and allow the excess HD to drip out. clean ear w/ a q-tip.

depedning on how clogged it is, you might have to go to the dr. and get your ear blown out.
