Clomid ?
I had a second visit with my OB today for a follow up on the rest of my blood tests and a sono to check for cysts, etc. Well everything came back good. All tests were good and no cysts, everything was normal.
Since my periods are 21-32 days long, mostly 21 days he suggested clomid but wants me to wait another 2-3 months and keep trying. If its been this long already why wait I guess is my question. Because of my history (I have 1 child already) he says I am probably just messed up from having a baby and am just not ovulating. Anyone else experience this? Should I rush into taking clomid? Its been 12 months already and 6 of those "REALLY" trying.
Thanks

Re: Clomid ?
How does he know you aren't ovulating? I would want to make sure I needed the med before I actually took it. Are you charting? Using OPKs?

Re: Clomid ?
What does 'good' mean when you refer to bloodtests. I would get the exact amounts.
Honestly, after a year, head to a RE.
Secondary infertility is very common and a lot of times it has to do with immunlogical issues.
I would head to an expert, ob/gyns are not trained in fertility.

Re: Clomid ?
He said from his "experience" it sounds like I am not ovulating due to my irregular periods.
I just started charting this past month but my thermometer was all messed up and I was getting very low temps so I had to buy another one and started w/ the new one mid cycle so I have to wait until next month to get some good numbers. Ive been using OPKS but havent gotten any +. I didnt do any of this because I kept telling myself "it will happen" and didnt want to have to do all that...but now its been 12 months.
And based on the cycle day the blood work was done, he said my #'s looked normal.
And since its been a year I just made an appt with an RE for a 2nd opinion because Ive heard too many stories of wasting time w/ things.
Thanks for your feedback girls.

Re: Clomid ?
I'm glad you're getting a second opinion. I love the responses of " in my experience" ... It's important that doctors find the reasons why things are happening.
Good luck and lots of baby dust.

Re: Clomid ?
My suggestion is to try using an OPK to see if you get a surge. If you get a surge, you are probably ovulating on your own. I agree with everyone else in that you should go to a specialist. Good Luck!

Re: Clomid ?
I told my RE I wanted to start Clomid "now" - not wait another few months. They listened to me. I got PG my first month on Clomid.
The doctors work for you. if you really want to do soemthing you need to insist on it. Good luck with everything, I hope you get to start Clomid soon and are on your way to having a baby!
