Clomid ?
I don't post on here much, but I do lurk and want to start off by saying that you are a very inspirational group of women. I am only starting out on this "journey" but have gotten a lot of help from reading about all of your experiences.
I have been taking metformin for over 6 months now for PCOS with no improvement. I am starting this cycle (which was brought on by taking Provera) on Clomid and wanted to know if anybody had any reactions to it. I'm supposed to take 50mg 2 times a day and continue with my metformin 3 times a day. I have read that people take the clomid at night to avoid side effects and since I need to take it 2 times a day-should I take it with breakfast or when I first get up? TIA

Re: Clomid ?
I believe you need to take the pills at the same time. At least that's how it was directed for me when I was on 5mg of femara.
I took 50mg of clomid and didn't have any side effects. I took clomid before going to bed. Thankfully it didn't dry up cm either. I am also on metformin now, just started my 3 pills a day. Is your pcos caused by insulin resistance ?
I have a slighly elevated insulin resistance that was discovered by doing a ton of blood work....since my glucose levels are normal. My RE's never put me on metformin, but Dr. Scher suggested it. I also do not have pcos...just slight insulin resistance.

Re: Clomid ?
First, hello and good luck to you!
The main reactions I had were:
Night sweats Hot flashes Extreme moodiness
I took them at night because the moodiness was a little better than if I took them during the day.
But when I was put on 100mg, the doctor told me to take one in the morning and one at night, so I had the side effects all day.
I never had any nausea, so taking them with or without food didn't make a difference. I chose my time based on what I thought I would remember most, so I took them at 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.
Hope this helps. Feel free to FM me if you have more questions.

Re: Clomid ?
I take 100 mg currently, and I take them both at the same time. Dr didnt say anything different. I take them in the morning, and the worst side effects I had were extreme moodiness, lots of hot flashes and some headaches. It didnt dry up my CM like it is known to either. And my side effects tended to show up towards the end of taking the pills and last a few more days. It was very bareable though, the hot flashes were the worst part.

Re: Clomid ?
I took 50 mg this past cycle in the AM and had no reactions. My Doc told me should I have to go to 100mg to take 2 50s at the same time... so maybe you should check with your doc?
