Clomid before hsg testing?
Who here was put on clomid without having an hsg test done? Anyone?
Also, did anyone take clomid and not do an IUI?

Who is prescribing you clomid? Why are they prescribing you clomid ? Those are things to ask......
A lot of gyn/obs...prescribe clomid without any testing.....it's the "advil" of fertility. Make sure clomid can "assist' you.....and that you will monitored while on clomid. I recommend getting an HSG test though, because, if your tubes are blocked, clomid won't assist conception.

my dr is prescribing clomid for me start next cycle. I haven't had an HSG and I'm not having an IUI.
I've had bloodwork done to rule out other reasons why my cycles are so irregular. I was very regular before BCPs.
I'd rather give the clomid a try before moving on to more invasive procedures.

Lisa, make sure you research the side effects of clomid. Clomid also dries up cm....so make sure you drink lots of water, eat carrots and drink carrot juice (v8 splash, or trader joe's vitality).....(vitamin A).
Btw, the Hsg, is an essential test for those who have never conceived.....and it definitely increases yoru chances of conception. It worked for me.

Red, you're pregnant? WHoa! How did I miss that?
OP- I am on clomid this month, although I did have an HSG I am doing a normal cycle...will save IUI for next month.

I took Clomid for four months with no BFP, but my friend took it and got PG the first month. She just took it again this last month and got PG but it ended up being a chemical. I am now taking it with an IUI, so I will let you know when all is said and done.
As far as what Red said, I agree about being monitored. My Gyn originally prescribed it and never checked back or had me check in till I went back four months later. Then he sent me straight to the RE. I do feel better about the monitoring. Good or bad I will know EXACTLY what is happening.
