Clomid vs. Progesterone Suppositories
I have heard that Clomid is sometimes prescribed for Luteal Phase Defect (LPD). Prior to this, I always thought that Progesterone Suppositories are what help this issue.
Does anyone know why a doctor might prescribe Clomid instead of Progesterone for LPD?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Clomid vs. Progesterone Suppositories
I'm on both-progesterone is produced by the corpus luteum-the empty sac left after your egg is released-if your ovulations are weak you will not have good progesterone levels. For instance-before treatment my 7dpo prog. levels were between 7-9 consistently. Last month with 100 mg of Clomid and oral and vag. prog. 2X a day they were 28.6

Re: Clomid vs. Progesterone Suppositories
I was just on clomid last cycle. That helped me make a mature follie and I ovulated, but my progesterone was low, so AF came too early. This cycle I just finished the clomid and my progesterone will be monitored much more closely. I will most likely be taking supplements after my trigger.

Re: Clomid vs. Progesterone Suppositories
I was prescribed clomid b/c I was barely producing progesterone. I needed to take 100mg for it to boost it to where it needed to be (50 mgs wasnt enough) and luckily after two months of 100mg it worked. DS just turned 1 on Friday.
