Close friends/ family members that are smokers?
How do you handle serious smokers in your life? Do you allow them to smoke in front of you while you are preg?
I have a friend who is a serious chain smoker. She smells like a walking ashtray.
Cig smoke makes me so nauseous... for my bachelorette party, she offered to drive & she smoked the entire time from bklyn to LI & I got so sick that she had to pull over so that I could throw up & she tried lighting one up as soon as I got back in the car

I would honestly ask them nicely if they could just not smoke in front of me. Some will take it the wrong way, but oh wells if it makes you sick plus its not good for you anyway.

I do NOT know what I am going to do about this. Actually stressing about it.
The person in my family who smokes knows how I feel. We do not allow smoking in our home but I am worried about what will happen when we visit them

I either ask them to go outside or to not smoke. If we are in the car, I ask them to wait until we get to where we are going.
If they are not willing to do that, then I remove myself from the situation. No one has really had a problem with it, as I was an avid anti-smoker before, and always made a big deal about it before getting pregnant.

I would specifically tell them that they cannot smoke around you, in your home, or in your car. Whether you go to their homes is up to you.

My dad smokes and I've been saying for years that he isn't allowed near the baby while he is smoking. They leave in Binghamton so when we go visit there we won't stay with them, we will stay with my grandma or in a hotel.

Some of my best friends smoke and for the most part they have been good to go outside or go away from me, but when they start drinking, I've noticed they get forgetful. So I just walk away.
