Closing fees waived????
I just got my paperwork in, we are going to put a bid in on a house this week. Just wondering what fees can be waived. It seems like there are a bunch of BS fees! I heard some of them can be waived...is this true?
TIA!

If you want to send me a copy of your good faith estimate... i can go over it and tell you if you are getting ripped off or not.
I have a lot of experience with them.
Most of the "800" fees can be waived. Everything else is usually 3rd party fees which can't be waived (but you shouldn't be overcharged on them either).

Re: Closing fees waived????
I was able to get them to waive the $300 "processing" fee.
Then, at the closing, the title person waived some fee for us, and the bank waived their attorney fee.
There might have been more waived, but its all kind of a blur to me

I didn't ask them to do it...towards the end of the closing he just announced that he was waiving our fee. I'm not sure why he did it, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it was b/c the sellers were such PITA's at the closing (the daughter had a calculator and was nickel and diming EVERYTHING, and annoying the bank attorney until he finally said to her "YOUR attorney is sitting right over there, ASK HIM), that he felt bad for us!

Thanks I will FM the fees tonight! First time buyer and this is a very confusing process. I feel like there are extra fees for everything!

Just make sure for each fee... FM me the name of the fee... and the fee number (the number ranges from 800 to 1300).
