Clothes

I am trying to sort thru all the babies clothes and get organized.

I am sure I need more of certain things and less of others. I am only washing Neborn and 0-3 for right now.

So how many and of what do I need?

Onsies
Tshirts (side snap)
Sleep and Play One piece outfits
Sleep Saks
Socks
Towels

I have 5-6 top/bottom sets in each size, is that ok?

Also I have
4 Heavy Blankets
2 Med Blankets
and about 15 receiving blankets
Only 4 sets of Sheets (2 per baby) and
I have 50 bibs ...too much, not enough, what am I missing?

I would also maybe get another set a sheets. Sometimes they could get 2 sheets dirty really fast ans lets face it.. we dont always have time to do laundry when having twins.

I personally cant stand the side snap t-shirts. I just feel like they ride up all the time.

my girls are 7 weeks old yesterday and they still wear some newborn stuff but we have mostly increased up to 0-3.

Another suggestion is to get receiving blankets that have a bit of elastic in them they are so great for swaddling.

sleep sacks are great too I have 4 for each child for each size. In those they are still in NB.
You need lots and lots of onsies. You can never have too many.

Are you on bedrest or up and about?? U are having boys right??

Being due in September I don't think you need too many t-shirts or onesies. My twins lived in Sleep-n-play type clothes as newborns and being born in Sept you will need lots of these. How many depends on how much you want to be doing laundry. I would plan on at least 3 outfits per day in the beginning for each baby. I swaddled their legs in the beginning using hospital style blankets /recieving blankets. I started using sleepsacks a few months later and had 5 of them for the 2 babies to share. One thing you may want to buy (lifesaver for me) are the sheet saver things, so you don't have to change the sheets all the time. Then you will be fine with your 2 sets each.

Right now I am on modified bed rest I feel good but get tired VERY easily and the three hr commute per day was not happening anymore.

I am having two Even tho I am only 28 weeks, I feel this urgency (nesting is real) to get things in order. I just had my shower, and there is SO MUCH STUFF. It can get overwhelming ! Thanks for the your response. The side snaps I thought would be good for when they are tiny and in the swaddle, or in those night gowns, easy diaper changes. (no buttons, hooks , snaps etc
What do your girls sleep in now?

I also didn't have a lot of use for the side snap shirts.

The girls have always worn the sleep and plays (gerber makes them) to bed with a Halo Sleepsack with swaddle to bed.

I think receiving blankets are key since I use them every time we go out with the infant carriers and grab a new one for each venture.

I just started getting them dressed daily (they are 3 months old). Before that I would just do outfit changes as needed (poop explosion, spit up, etc).

My girls were born at 37 weeks at 4.12 and 6lbs. At their last well visit they were 6.8 and 8.2. So I still have them in 0-3 clothes. Although I used NB clothing for DS for about a week, I see no end in sight with these little peanuts.

Here is a thought that really put things into perspective for me if I have 12 onesies that's technically only 6 days worth assuming no one destroys 1 one day. So oneises, sleep n plays. can never have too many!

For quick/easy diaper changes in the middle of the night I suggest the gowns. They don't have any zippers, snaps, buttons, etc and you can just pull it right up with easy access to diaper.

I remember having the same feelings when I was 28 weeks PG! I had boy/girl twins so I had to break it down into boy/girl clothes but since you are having boy/boy twins it makes it a little simpler to organize clothes

20 sleep and plays (I know probably alot but they lived in these in the beginning)...I had about 10 for DS and 10 for DD
4 outfits
10 receiving blankets
4 swaddles
As many bibs as you can handle !
12 burpcloths
4 sheets
4 sheet savers
6 towels
10 washcloths

I never used the side snap t-shirts because they didn't fit right. Although the bathrobes are cute I never used them either! My LO's were used to the swaddle so I didn't use the sleep sacks because they were restless sleepers when I tried to put them in it.

My daughters lived in onsies or the sleep and plays for the first three or so months. Plus they were swaddled in the Swaddle me for the first month or two. I would say that I had about 12 sleep and plays and about the same amount of onsies. From 0-3 months we rarely went out. So, I hardly had them in regular shirts that buttoned.

Just be careful if you are thinking about getting that sheet protector. I had it and found my daughter almost under it. She was very active. I took it off and put it under the sheet after that without clipping it in.

Do you recommend the Gerber or Carters sleep n plays..i have heard the gerbers shrink in the dryer and i am NOT line drying baby clothes

Sleep and Play One piece outfits and Onsies --> I used MANY of both of these. In the beginning, the little crawler outfits from Carters were the best things ever.

Tshirts (side snap) --> NONE!

Sleep Saks --> NONE. Never used them!

Socks --> None in the beginning. My kids were barefoot until they were at least 3mo. Socks are a PITA, especially for twins.

Towels --> maybe 4? Also, maybe 10 wash cloths.

I have 5-6 top/bottom sets in each size, is that ok? --> I'd stick w/ 1 piece outfits as much as possible. Easier for frequent diaper changes. Get a few "good" outfits for when compnay comes!

Also I have 4 Heavy Blankets --> Didn't use them (still don't)!

2 Med Blankets --> Maybe get 2 more? U can use them in the stroller when u are out for walks.

and about 15 receiving blankets --> I had at least 15 and used them non-stop. I didn't swaddle but would wrap the boys in their receiving blankets for naps.

Only 4 sets of Sheets (2 per baby) --> Good!

I have 50 bibs --> Check the sizing of the bibs. You'll need some larger ones down the road. Def don't need 50 in the beginning. Return some and get larger ones for later.

-->Yes, the Gerber stuff shrinks A LOT. I did buy a few pairs of Gerber's PJs. The were very soft.

Will u have a pack and play? If so, you'll need a few sheets for that too.

I didn't take the tags off clothes or wash most of the clothes until after the kids were born. Some outfits that I thought I would love, we just never used and I was able to return them.
