Have him call local animal rescues and vets letting them know he found a lost cockateil--This is how I was able to get my bird back after he got out a few weeks ago.

I noticed signs for a missing one in Baldwin/Oceanside if I happen to see a flier I'll let you know

I don't really know the differences amongst birds. Is this it? This information is posted about a bird reported as lost on the Lost & Found Pets of Long Island page.

Also...whoever lost the bird should be looking at Lost and Found Pets of Long Island (LAFPOLI) on Facebook. They post so many pets...and have had a few birds lately too.
