"Cocktail Dress" for Daytime Wedding in Restaurant??
Any fancy ladies want to help me out?? :) I have a daytime wedding coming up. The wedding/reception will all be held at a local restaurant, not too dressy, but the bride is requesting Cocktail Dresses. It's an early Friday afternoon. I have absolutely no idea how dressy I should be. Any suggestions?

I went to a similar sounding wedding in Brooklyn. It was at an upscale restaurant during the day. I wore this dress from Vicky's:
It's more of a sundress, but I jazzed it up with heels and jewelry and did my hair all nice. It was perfect for the party.

That is really cute. I just checked the site and it's nowhere to be found. I'd love to get something cute and fun like that. I always seem to go with simple black, short, boring. Any other suggestions??

Same here. I'm *always* in black. So that's why I went for it. I wanted something bright, fun, and summery. Vicky's does still have the dress (Corset Dress) but not in that print and I don't like the ones they do have available. Hmmm, let's see what I can find, it's totally dead at work today.
Here's a few from Modcloth... I always love their stuff, you just need to really check the reviews for sizing since it can be a little wonky...
ETA: This one is from Macy's, thought it was cute and love the color!
Nordstrom had a few nice one's, too, but they are expensive. Everything here except the Macy's dress is under $100. The Macy's dress is $128.

Oh! I also got this AWESOME striped dress from Target the other day. Again, a little more sundress than cocktail dress but it would totally work.
And it was $20. I bought it for work and a baby shower.

Re: "Cocktail Dress" for Daytime Wedding in Restaurant??
I just got a couple of dresses that would work! And I can tell you what they're really like
I just wore this to the ballet Saturday night, it is SOOOO comfortable. It's cotton so it's not too dressy. I aspire to be like Kate Middleton, so i almost always wear long sleeves. I feel like its always cold when I am in a restaurant. I got a lot of compliments on it. It is low cut but I had a very big chunky necklace on & I don't have a chest really so it looked 'normal'. Both sides are all ruching.

This is J Crew and I wear it all the time. I bought it last year but they still have it. I wear it to work & I wear it to baby showers, parties, I had it tailored so it fits like it should and it just is so classic

I got this in the royal blue, I just love this color. It fits sooo nice http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-dresses/24761355.jsp
