Cold at 8 weeks....what can I do?

My DS is extremely congested and has a runny nose. What can I do to help him? He is over tired because he is finding it hard to breathe.
Anyone have any suggestions?

RUn a hot steamy shower and sit in the bathroom for a few minutes, get a cool midst humidifier, use saline drops and suction the nose, Infant tylenol in you think he needs it

Try sleeping in the swing or bouncer.....or even the car seat to keep upright.

Bring DS in the bathroom with the shower running. The steam helps to break it up.

When DD was that young she slept in the swing, buckled in of course.

Unfortunately, that is all you can do. I just went through this...

Iforgot, you can also cup your hand and pat him on the back so it makes that echoing noise (not too hard, obviously). My ped gave me this tip. It is supposed to help break up the congestionChat Icon

aw poor baby.

When Katie had a cold when she was only 2 months old we did the following:

1. She slept in her car seat, upright , next to our bed
2. humidifier
3. used Little Noses saline drops and contstantly suctioned out her nose

Go get the Bebe Sounds battery operated nasal aspirator. I find it works SO much better than the bulb aspirator. I also used saline drops and a humidifier.

DD got a cold at 7 weeks- it took about a week for it to clear up.
