Cold Feet about Buying a Home?
For the record, I'm super fickle.
May make an offer, but now I am haunted with these thoughts:
What if something nicer pops up? What if I end up wanting 4 BR and not 3? Is the kitchen going to be big enough? ( I have a kitchengasm when it comes to great kitchens)
All of a sudden, I'm scared. I'm not scared of the $, as it is below our range, it's just these other factors.
Is this normal? Or is this a sign?

I think you will know when it is the one - don't settle but on the other hand just keep in mind when you do find the one it will probably need some stuff. Unless you buy a brand new house...

be patient... i looked for almost a year, to the point where my FH was getting upset with me for being "too picky"... don't worry you will know when it is "the one.." you will be able to see yourself living there and building a life there!

Re: Cold Feet about Buying a Home?
I'll be honest. I'm very picky when looking at houses. I want a good school district, a big backyard, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, finished basement, midblock location, near a major highway (LIE or Northern State), close to shopping, no ranchs and the right "feeling" when I walk in. I preferred not to have to do a lot of work to it and wanted to get under contract to take advantage of the tax credit. I started looking in the beginning of February.
The above list, IMO, is unrealistic to fulfill fully. So, I had to prioritize. I realized certain things were deal breakers and other things I would have to settle. We ended up walking into a house for an Open House and I immediately got "the feeling." It fulfills a lot of the above criteria, but not all and it certainly needs work! But I am so happy to say that we will be under contract as of Monday. So this is a long winded way of saying, if 4 bedrooms and a kick-a$$ kitchen are deal breakers for you then this is not the right house. But you have to prioritize what you really want and what you are willing to settle for. HTH!
